Probe Pilot 3 is an intuitive, powerful and easy to learn Cad based programming system for machine tool probes. Based on industry standard Renishaw Inspection Plus® macro based software and Mastercam® system, Probe Pilot 3 allows you to quickly create probe programs that can be used for Part Setup, full probe Calibration, process control, Machine Health Check, unattended machining, coordinate rotation, as well as Part Inspection. Using macro based programming gives real time data that is available immediately at the time of measurement. There is no need to wait for a downstream inspection report to determine measurement results.

With point and click featured based selection and extensive measuring operations that include points, bores, bosses, webs, pockets, partial arcs, internal and external corners, and options such as regular tolerance, true position tolerance and variable search distance even the beginning programmer or operator can efficiently create probe routines. Experienced programmers will find Probe Pilot 3 powerful enough for even the most complex probe programs.

Part Alignment

Part Alignment MainThe Part Alignment Module in Probe Pilot 3 guides the programmer to select features that are involved in the alignment, whether it is tooling balls, holes, parallel surfaces or angled surfaces, or any combination features. There is no need for any manual calculations by the programmer or the operator Probe Pilot does everything automatically. The probe measures the features indentified by the programmer, the control does the calculations and automatically sets the necessary parameters. This allows for faster and more accurate part setup, saving time, and saving money!

Calibration

Keep your machine tool probe producing the most accurate results. The Calibration Module allows the NC programmer to quickly produce a probe calibration program that takes all the guess work out of the probe calibration process. The NC programmer selects either a precision bore (such as a Ring Guage) or a precision sphere, and selects a couple of parameters and the Calibration program is ready to be loaded onto the machine control. Also, inculded is an innovative automated calibration sequence that utilizes a spindle orientation option to produce a truly push botton/hands off calibration program reducing the risk of error.

Machine Health

Machine Health

The advanced Machine Health Check module gives the user the capabilities to define certain characteristics of a machine tool and easily create a probe program that checks these characteristics on a periodic basis, whether it is daily, weekly, or monthly. The user can easily create real time logic that will evaluate the results of the Machine Health Check program directly on the machine control as it is running and alert the operator if the checked results fall outside the envelope that is defined as acceptable. Examples of issues that can be detected include results of a machine crash, corruprted pitch error tables in the control, loose encoders or scales, incorrect pivot points (i.e for a 5 axis trunnion machine), and many others. ReportsReports - Probe Pilot 3

Detailed custom reports can be instantly created showing the feature name, nominal dimension, actual, error, upper and lower limits and a green pass or red fail label for each measured dimension in tabulated format.
